Q: What is the Salvation Army Angel Tree?
A: The Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts for children from families in need. Donors “adopt” an Angel (a child) and purchase items from their wish list.

Q: Who qualifies for the Angel Tree program?
A: Families with financial hardships who meet Salvation Army’s assistance guidelines. Parents/guardians apply through their local Salvation Army.

Q: What ages are included?
A: Children from newborn through 12 years old (varies by location).

Donors

Q: How do I adopt an Angel?
A: Visit an Angel Tree location, at Blue Baker, Post Oak Mall, and other supporting locations. Please contact [email protected] for more locations. Online Adoption : Click Here

Q: What items should I buy?
A: Each Angel tag lists clothing sizes, toy requests, or other needs. Donors are encouraged to provide at least one clothing item and one toy.

Q: Do the gifts need to be new?
A: Yes. All gifts must be brand new. We cannot accept used or gently used items.

Q: Can I donate gift cards or cash instead?
A: Yes! We gladly accept cash and gift card donations. Our Angel Tree staff will use these funds to shop for the children’s Christmas gifts, ensuring every dollar goes directly toward making their holiday special.

Q: How much should I spend?
A: The minimum donation is $100 per child. Of course, you’re welcome to give more if you’re able!

Q: Do I wrap the gifts?
A: No. Please return gifts unwrapped to allow parents the joy of wrapping them for their child.

Q: Where do I return the gifts?
A: Drop-off instructions will be listed on your Angel tag or provided by your local Salvation Army. 

Other Questions

Q: Can businesses, groups, or churches adopt multiple Angels?
A: Yes! Many groups adopt several Angels or even an entire tree.

Q: What happens if someone doesn’t return gifts for an Angel?
A: The Salvation Army uses extra donated gifts or funds to make sure no child is left out.

Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: Yes. The Salvation Army is a registered 501(c)(3). Save your receipt for tax purposes.

Volunteers

Q: How do I sign up to volunteer?
A: Click on the volunteer/community service tab, then click on register button and choose from our opportunities.

Q: Can we volunteer as a group?
A: Yes! Just please let us know in the system how many people will be volunteering that day so we can coordinate accordingly.

Q: If I’m having difficulty signing up is someone able to do this for me?
A: Absolutely! You may either email [email protected] or text her your information and preferred day to volunteer. She will get back with you and let you know if it’s available and input you into the system.

Q: I don’t have time to volunteer. Can I donate?
A: YES! You may donate through our website www.salvationarmybcs.org OR by coming into the office at 2506 Cavitt Ave. Bryan, Texas 77801

Q: Do you take food donations?
A: We try to feed our volunteers during certain days. We are in search for those interested in snack signups as well as catered meals. Contact us if you’re interested.

Q: How old do you have to be to volunteer?
A: 16 years or older or you must have adult supervision.

Q: Can my volunteer hours go towards those needed for school?
A: Yes! May of our volunteers are students and their hours are credited.
